Maternity Consultations

What is a maternity consultation?
This consultation is meant to be a calm, supportive space where you can bring your questions, your hopes, and even the things that feel a little uncertain. I’m here to listen, to offer steady guidance, and to help you sort through your options in a way that feels grounded and doable. We’ll walk through practical steps, talk about what matters most to you, and build a plan that fits your family — not a generic checklist, but something that actually feels like you.
You can schedule a consultation at any point in your pregnancy. Starting earlier simply gives you more time to explore things comfortably and make decisions without feeling rushed. But truly, whenever you’re ready, I’m here.
What will I receive?
Care Team Support I can help you sort through your options and find a care team that truly feels right for your family. We’ll talk about OB‑GYNs, midwives, labor doulas, and pediatricians — what each one offers, how their approaches differ, and what tends to feel most supportive for the kind of birth and postpartum experience you want.
Pregnancy & Parenting Education Planning This is simply a calm space for us to sit together and talk through what to expect — both during pregnancy and in those early days of parenting. There’s so much information out there, and it can feel confusing or heavy when you’re trying to figure out what’s actually right for your family.
We can talk about anything that’s on your mind:
- Do you need a labor doula or postpartum doula?
- What might breastfeeding look like for you?
- What kind of support feels best for your home and your family?
I’ll help you sort through your options so you can make choices that fit your current situation — not someone else’s checklist. My goal is to offer clarity without pressure, and to help you feel a little more grounded as your family grows.
Birth Plan Support We can also sit together and talk through what a birth plan might look like for you. Not a rigid checklist — just a gentle, thoughtful way to explore your preferences and what helps you feel safe and supported.
Maybe you’re wondering about things like:
- How do I even start a birth plan?
- What choices matter most to me?
- What helps me feel calm during labor?
- What role do I want my partner or support person to have?
- Should I keep my placenta for encapsulation?
We’ll walk through all of it slowly, in a way that feels comfortable. I’ll help you sort out what’s important to you, what options you have, and how to shape a plan that feels like your birth — not anyone else’s idea of how it “should” go.
- Newborn Care and Fourth Trimester Preparation We’ll talk through what postpartum recovery can look like, what kinds of support systems tend to feel grounding, and the basics of newborn care that help those first weeks feel a little less intimidating. Things like feeding, soothing, sleep rhythms, and what’s “normal” in those early days — all the small details that can make a big difference when you’re tired and learning your baby’s cues.
- Baby Registry Development We’ll talk honestly about what’s worth adding, what you can skip, and what actually fits your family’s lifestyle. My goal is to help you build a registry that feels practical and well‑rounded without being overwhelming.
